Our shared enthusiasm for the rapid development of intelligent information systems based on Enterprise Open Source software is the tie that binds us as a team. Our core team has worked together on a variety of projects, including data integration, data mining, and software development since 2004. Through our work with many different research institutions at the Technical University of Dresden we have gathered experience on many different contract-based research projects.
Robert Glaß | Graduate of Economics
Robert is our data wrangler. His favorite occupation is pushing our IT infrastructure to the limits of its capacity. This is sometimes necessary, because he spends a lot of time extracting information from files and connecting this information with other databases, so that, in the end, new information can see the light of day in Avantgarde Labs applications.
Torsten Hartmann | Graduate of Economics
Torsten represents the intersection between research and innovation from the business world and us. He soaks up current research trends at conferences and scientific workshops. We then put this knowledge to use in the applications that we develop with our customers. Since Avantgarde Labs works more and more with Semantic Web, computer linguistics and knowledge management, his passion has now become his profession.
Sandy Lucka | Graduate of Economics
Sandy is our time-series analysis expert, and he’s rapidly becoming a professional data manager, because this topic has become ever more important to our company. Aside from that, he’s the trustworthy man behind the curtain, who oversees the day-to-day issues of the company, and he tends to our customers in a very charming way.
Sven Rega | Graduate of Computer Science
Sven is the backbone of our IT knowledge. He always has the answers to all of our technical questions. If he doesn’t know the answer off-the-cuff, he always finds it very quickly. This is why Sven is brought to the table on virtually every project. A good internal adviser like Sven is worth his weight in gold for our SCRUM masters.
Sandro Heyer | IT Specialist
Sandro came to us as a Java and PHP programmer. Since Java is the core technology behind almost all of the open source tools that we use, Sandro has something to contribute to every project. He’s the developer with the most years of programming experience. He loves tricky little details and is very committed to our work together.
Anne Horn | Graduate of Industrial Engineering and Economics
When Anne started working with us, things like “repository”, “classification model” and “String.valueOf” were incomprehensible, foreign concepts. Now Anne composes our technical publications, has planned the re-launch of our website and programs the BI-reports for our customers. Anne’s view of the whole picture and her eye for detail has led us to many good decisions.
Paul Horn | Web Development Guru
Paul, by the way, is Anne’s brother and the newest member of our team. He brought us the development tool Python and likes working on web applications most of all. The trickier the problem is and the further he has to expand the technology horizon, the more motivation Paul has to solve the problems as elegantly as possible.
